Channeling of substrates and intermediates in enzyme-catalyzed reactions.
The three-dimensional structures of tryptophan synthase, carbamoyl phosphate synthetase, glutamine phosphoribosylpyrophosphate amidotransferase, and asparagine synthetase have revealed the relative locations of multiple active sites within these proteins. In all of these polyfunctional enzymes, a product formed from the catalytic reaction at one active site is a substrate for an enzymatic react...
متن کاملA model of anomalous enzyme-catalyzed gel degradation kinetics.
We show that a model of target location involving n noninteracting particles moving subdiffusively along a line segment (a generalization of a model introduced by Sokolov et al. [Biophys. J. 2005, 89, 895.]) provides a basis for understanding recent experiments by Pelta et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 2007, 98, 228302.] on the kinetics of diffusion-limited gel degradation. These experiments find that ...
متن کاملCopper(II)-catalyzed exo and enantioselective cycloadditions of azomethine imines.
A strategy for exo and enantioselective 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of azomethine imines to 2-acryloyl-3-pyrazolidinone is described. The corresponding cycloadducts are isolated with high diastereoselectivities (up to >96:4 exo/endo) and enantioselectivities (up to 98% ee).
متن کاملTrypsin-Catalyzed Deltamethrin Degradation
To explore if trypsin could catalyze the degradation of non-protein molecule deltamethrin, we compared in vitro hydrolytic reactions of deltamethrin in the presence and absence of trypsin with ultraviolet-visible (UV/Vis) spectrophotometry and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS). In addition, acute oral toxicity of the degradation products was determined in Wistar rats. The results sho...
متن کاملTheoretical study on the degradation of ADP-ribose polymer catalyzed by poly(ADP-ribose) glycohydrolase.
Poly(ADP-ribose) glycohydrolase (PARG) is the only enzyme responsible for the degradation of ADP-ribose polymers. Very recently, the first crystal structure of PARG was reported (Dea Slade, et al., Nature 477 (2011) 616), and a possible SN1-type-like mechanism was proposed. In this work, we present a computational study on the hydrolysis of glycosidic ribose-ribose bond catalyzed by PARG using ...
